Last Shift for Captain Mike Baker "Bake"

On Friday, May 20th - Station 74/B platoon Captain Mike Baker came into his last shift thinking he was just going to have some pizzas with the crew and say his good byes early when another Captain was coming in to relieve him early at 7pm. He was surprised to find out that his Firefighters organized a surprise party/dinner for him to go out in style. Many members, retired and active, showed up starting at 5pm to celebrate Bakes last shift. He also celebrated with his family, and close friends, along with the recently retired Department Chief Ed Cubler and acting Department Chief Gary McAfee. Lots of stories were shared and everyone had a great time wishing Bake the best in his future endeavors. Bake even was treated to a bag piper and he showed off his drumming skills as his shift was coming to an end.

From all of us to you Bake! It has been a blast...it was a pleasure learning from you. Good luck brother.
